There are two species of Orangutan, both live in Indonesia and both are highly endangered as a result of reduction of habitat. These images were taken in one of the few virgin rainforests in Borneo. Eye contact and tactile communication between mother and a nursing six month old orangutan baby express an anthropomorphic sort of love that cannot be expressed in words. The plight of the rainforests is the plight of the orangutan, the story is told in a sequence of images which express the care of a mother for her offspring.
